Welcome to my new website. My name is Beverly Nelson, a writer and performance artist.

It might be called hybrid-experimental, or it could be called inter-disciplinary, at times people say cross-genre. Using the hyphen, two words are linked in order to blend distinct meanings into one container. Lately I’ve been more interested in this recurring feature, the hyphenated word, used to describe multimedia art. The hyphen is used so often that someone recently called the art it was attempting to name, hyphenated art. This term probably best describes the work I make. I strive to create a collision of forces that will require new thought.

Consider this the beginning of a portfolio and ongoing artist statement, in a rough state. But I hope that you will find it interesting and resourceful, especially as new posts and links are added. Please contact me with your questions or comments. And thanks again for visiting!
